Early Postnatal

"I have cracked nipples and it hurts to breast feed"

“I am keen to get back to the gym now that I have had my baby, what can or can’t I do?”

“I have been told my tummy muscles are separated. Do I need special exercises?”

Many women can experience discomfort in their bodies after having their baby and the Bumpity Bump Physiotherapy Team can provide individual consultations to treat your postnatal pain in those early days or weeks after delivery (before your 6 week medical review) We are here for you as soon as you deliver if you are experiencing any bladder or bowel leakage, vaginal heaviness/swelling/bruising, haemorrhoid pain or breastfeeding problems such as mastitis or nipple soreness.

At 6 weeks postnatal, we encourage all our mums to have a FULL Postnatal Review which takes our team an hour to assess the recovery of your bladder, bowel, pelvic floor muscles and abdominal muscle separation as well as discuss your exercise and fitness goals. This enables our team to provide you with an individualised, safe return to your exercise and optimises your postnatal recovery.

Individual consultations are available for:

  • Pelvic and/or spinal pain
  • Headaches and neck pain
  • Bladder and bowel incontinence/pain
  • Constipation
  • Prolapse
  • Cracked or grazed nipples
  • Perineal, vaginal / episiotomy pain
  • Mastitis/blocked breast duct(s)
  • Abdominal muscle separation
  • Pain with sex (Dyspareunia)
  • Pelvic floor muscle rehabilitation and training
  • Caesarean wound pain

We provide you with the time you need:
